A typical day

In a busy school with many different activities, visits and events, it is difficult to describe a ‘typical’ day. The following plan gives an indication of how a day may be spent in WGJS

8.00am              Early morning club

8.45                   Registration followed by assembly

9.15                   Lessons 1+2

10.25                 Break (a drink and biscuits or fruit will be provided)

10.45                 Lessons 3+4

12.05                 Lunch

12.25                 Lunch time activities and play

1.10pm              Registration followed by quiet reading

1.25pm              Lessons 5-8   On two afternoons there will be games  sessions and matches. Practical subjects and the skills lessons will also be timetabled in the afternoon to make each afternoon an active programme of learning.

3.45pm              End of the School Day

  Break for those staying for after school clubs and homework sessions

4.00pm              Homework and after school clubs. A full programme of after school clubs will be provided. Children in Years 5+6 may elect to join some of the activities provided by the senior school.

5.00pm              Late Club – Children who are yet to be collected by parents join the Late Club for relaxation and downtime. In the summer months this may well be held outside.

5.30pm              Late club finishes, children leave.
