Our Commitment

Sport plays a key part in many children’s lives. The lessons learned in playing as part of a team, both in experiencing success and failure, help build character. Our philosophy is that all children should be given the opportunity to represent their school. Whilst winning is our aim, it is more important that all children receive an opportunity to play.  Matches will be arranged to allow all year groups the opportunity to play a number of games each term against a variety of schools. Where numbers allow, B team fixtures will be sought.

Both boys and girls may opt to participate in sports designated for either boys or girls. For example, a number of boys and girls are keen footballers and hockey players. There is no reason why a girl couldn't join the footballers for some or all of the football games lessons.

WGJS enjoys immediate access to the games fields and benefits from expert coaching by games specialists. Two afternoons of games will be offered each week with further opportunities to join a variety of after school sporting clubs.
