Boys’ Games

The boys will play a mixture of rugby and football in the autumn term. As many boys will not have played rugby before, coaches will start with the basics of the game, introducing the laws, with matches scheduled for later in the autumn term. Boys in Year 3 will begin with ‘tag’ rugby with contact introduced from Year 4 onwards. In all instances, the school will follow the RFU laws and regulations concerning junior rugby. For instance, all children playing rugby in Years 4 and above will have to wear a mouthguard.

Rugby and football are the main sports for boys in the autumn and spring terms, followed by cricket in the summer. In the summer, athletics will take place in the weekly PE lessons.
